Philip Wharton
Philip is a business coach with considerable experience in coaching and mentoring senior executives within a range of high performance organisations. The combination of his coaching and experience on the board of a global investment management business brings a unique insight into creating both business and individual performance improvement.
After two years on the board of Mercury Asset Management’s UK institutional business, he joined the Mercury top management team as the Global Head of Human Resources. He was a coach to a number of senior or key executives and management teams and facilitated both business strategy and new product events. His leadership of Talent Management activity helped Mercury to be judged, in 1999, the Best City Employer.
Philip was part of the deal team that resulted in Merrill Lynch acquiring Mercury and he led the people aspects of the integration into the enlarged group. The success of this work helped retain the talented people of both businesses and he became the Global Head of HR on the board of Merrill Lynch Mercury Asset Management.
Philip has a Masters in History, is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development and a Member of the International Coach Federation.
